Architectural Homes Devonport, Tasmania

“Creating architecturally designed homes for architects and homeowners with a vision”.
Architectural homes are residential houses that aim to be aesthetically pleasing and functional. Architectural homes often incorporate unique structural designs, modern features, and can vary from traditional to contemporary style.

At Laing Homes we work closely with your architect to ensure your dream home is not only buildable, but tailored for the north Tasmanian coastal environment. Our focus is on creating an open-concept living space that is both stylish and ergonomic. To achieve this, your architect uses their creative abilities to design something with a unique look and feel, but that also functions well for your lifestyle.

The Benefits of Owning an Architectural Home

Increased Curb Appeal

Architectural homes tend to be aesthetically pleasing, making them attractive additions to any neighbourhood. With the help of a professional architect or designer, you can choose features that will make your property stand out from those surrounding it.

Improved Building Quality

An architectural home is built with great attention to detail and usually lasts longer than other standard homes. This means that you’ll save money in maintenance costs and repairs over time, because the quality of construction is much higher than regular construction.

One of the best aspects of owning an architectural home is the ability to customise it to the homeowner’s exact specifications. A professional architect or designer can help you design a unique home that is tailored to your tastes and needs.

Resale Value

Architectural homes tend to appreciate in value over time, making them great investments. This is true even if you decide to move and sell the house later on.

Energy Efficiency

Architectural homes are designed with energy efficiency in mind, meaning they will cost less to cool and heat. This means that you’ll save money on utility bills in the long run.

Our Process

The first step is to consult with an architect who will create a design and provide drawings for your home. During this process, as the homeowner, you will discuss your ideas and wishes for the project with the architect, who will then draw up plans based on this initial meeting.

Once the plans are finalised, you will work closely  with a contractor to secure the necessary permits, arrange financing, and obtain bids from subcontractors. The contractor will ensure all the subcontractors are following the plans and working to meet the standards specified in the contract.

During construction, you will have regular meetings with the contractor and the architect to review the progress and discuss any changes or modifications that need to be made.

Once construction is complete, the home will undergo final inspections and tests to ensure it meets all building codes and safety regulations before you can officially take possession of your new dream home!
